Te Hana Te Ao Marama Marae will provide you with an authentic Marae style of living in a modern architectural context.
Marae accommodation is available for groups, conferences, birthdays or other such events. All Marae stays include a traditional powhiri (welcome ceremony) onto the Marae (meeting hall), a cosy mattress, pillows, fresh linen and a deliciously cooked breakfast or continental for the following morning. Our modern styled bathroom facilities are located adjacent to the Marae and contain both disability showers and toilets. Minimum numbers do apply.
Please note; you must bring your own sleeping bag or blankets.
Te Hana Te Ao Marama takes pleasure in hosting guests with our talented and professional kitchen staff preparing all meals on site from breakfast through to supper. Starlight Tours and Maori cultural concerts are also available to add to accommodation packages.

Sleeping
In accordance with Marae communal traditions, manuhiri (guests) sleep on separate mattresses arranged inside the carpeted comfort of the Marae wharenui (meeting hall).
Showering and Toilets
Te Hana Te Ao Marama has modern and separate male and female shower and toilet facilities. The wash basins are communal in nature. However both the toilets and showers are located within private modern cubicles. Each block also has accessible showers and toilets.
Dining
Dining takes place in the Marae Wharekai (dining hall). Tables and chairs are placed in accordance with communal dining traditions.
